Circles in Autumn

We have this butler's closet and let me tell you- it's full. Full of doorknobs and paint cans and screws and window treatments and just about anything you can think of- it's probably in there. We've sort of been using it as our project closet. Supplies live there- get lost and sometimes even multiply. Kind of amazing. But the problem is an at-the-bottom- of your belly overwhelmed feeling- at least for me. I know it takes 30 years to get everything together- but this little house has been an exception.

Today I took my 1st hot shower since we bought the place! IT turns out something was lodged in one of the pipes. Thankfully our neighbor was able to help Zach figure it out! Tonight I am sooo soaking in the tub! Here are a few pictures of what has been happening other than house stuff! Fall in the making!

New Mini Quilts are hitting the shop in the next few weeks. This is my 1st one to sell. I've made a few for family, friends and myself. This one is a mix of all things I love about fall. This is a close up of the cool stitches my new machine makes- love it! It will be up in the shop today!

Making homemdae pizzas every Sunday. Zach does the dough, I do the sauce and Hazel does the cheese- then we all partake in the added veggies and devouring it!!

Hazel learning how to draw circles. I love it!

Making toasty forts!

Hope your future leads to toasty socks, warm drinks and cozy blankets. Fall is defenitely here and we have to get that chimney looked at! xo

Pizza for Dinner

So after a morning spent in NY Presbyterian Hospital (colonoscopy) I was starving! I was able to make quite a dent in Breaking Dawn, since we arrived 1hour and 30 minutes early. Zach and Hazel picked me up from recovery with an egg sandwich- that perfectly hit the spot!

On our way home, still feeling a little loopy, coaxed Zach to take me to my favorite little thrift store that was having a $1.00 sale! I scored 2 summer skirts (both need to be shortened- I did cut & pin them), a great pair of like-new long Johns for Hazel, a sweatshirt for myself, 2 pair of pants for Hazel along with a few other things- I am now forgetting. Let's just say it was a success and I am contemplating going back! (shhh don't tell Zach!)

While Z&H played in the yard that afternoon, again still a little loopy- I started making brownies in the house. Don't worry the brownies came out amazing! I used my favorite box recipe and added peanut butter. Tempted to order out,yet trying to use everything in our cupboards, we used up our last packet of Bob's Red Mill's gluten-free pizza dough. This dough is really delicious- plus we have a little secret... since we loove the crust, (well Zach more than I) we usually add some sugar and cinnamon to the crust and save that as a little after-pizza treat! Sound crazy? It really is delicious!

This is how it turned out!

My half had scallions, sauce, mushrooms, cilantro and soy cheese. Zach's side had all the same + BBQ chicken pieces we made.Yum! Great Job Z!

A little Easter gift from Zachary, new sunglasses!! My old favorite white ones, finally kicked on Friday. RIP favorite sunglasses and welcome new, purple, butterfly inspired ones!

This morning I was able to hang my spring clothes on the line! This is the first wash this season, since it is suppose to be about 80-yay.

A Birthday Donut and Other Stories

(shirt from Wren Willow Friday afternoon we spent some time on the lawn, sprawled out on blankets. Then we ordered a pizza half with cheese half with no cheese- just mushrooms, it was pretty darn delicious.
Saturday was Zach's birthday. He wanted to go to an estate sale- so he practically dragged us there. Then the poor birthday boy didn't find anything- but I did! Behold my $5.00 purchase. It all came in a plastic cracked container, of course I had to go through my loot like Halloween and put like with like.

A bunch of vintage-lace in awesome colors

Embroidery floss

Embroidery hoops

Handmade lace doilies- for a special secret project

some zippers, more binding, some ribbon and a largeish piece of vintage fabric. I was psyched.
We got a chance to take some product shots- this seahorse bib will be in the shop this week, along with a few other bibs.

I also shot some envelope clutches:

A visit to Connecticut to see Zach's family on a rainy day. It was good to see everyone and meet new members I had never met before. Zach got some great gifts this weekend- there was definitely a theme of bacon in the air. Off to fix a non-baconated dinner!
