Hump Day tee hee- or Wednesday Night's Dinner

I bet I've got your eye now! I like Wednesday because you're almost over the hump of the week!
Today was very disgusting out I worked mostly outside watering plants, trimming bushes etc. We splurged last night and ordered fried rice & general tso's tofu. I couldn't stand the thought of cooking in the heat.
So guess what we're having tonight?! Yay for leftovers!

We received a package from the Letterman show with some tee shirts in it. A while back we had sent Dave a kids shirt for his son.. of baron von ruffhausen- because Dave had mentioned he and his son were "roughousing" and he hurt his nose. Anywho- his assistant contacted us and said Dave loved the shirt! How exciting! So we got a little package of tees from him! The men in my family will be thrilled! I think I might make myself something other than a t-shirt.

Tonight we need to load the car full of our inventory, mannequin, clothes rack ( which we now have 2 of..because we forgot ours last PROM show- so we stopped at IKEA on RT 95 in Conneticuit to pick up a nutter) I haven't had any coffee today and really want some- but I know I'll just be up all night and need to be at work tomorrow. So Alas.. I'll have chocolate silk milk- with ice which is soo good. Zach's aunt taught me how to make a egg cream. I had no idea what was in it. Now I make them all the time with chocomilk. Wow it is really so easy to fall of track. In addition to th 3 rubbermaids we have full of stuff, I also have a large bag of fabrics for things I am going to make once we get to Westerly as well as my sewing machine, 2 tables 2 chairs etc. We'll be house & kitty sitting while we are there. Zach will get to see an early showing for press and the "in dorks" as we say of Transformers. I'll be sewing away playing with the cats and sucking up all the channels his mom's house can offer lol- guilty pleasure!

I need to remember to update our etsy shop as well- and figure out our Thursday Self- portrait pic. I wish we could get the 4 of us on the couch- but jasper is a huge fatty that squirms like a freak of nature if you even pretend to pick him up.

Well I should get back to loading the car. If you are going to be in or around Providence this weekend, stop by and see us :

hermione hiding in my bottom drawer

adam cutting his key lime birthday cake!

Zach looking handsome in his new hat!

Fabric from Purl Patchwork

Because I would rather pay money to the library for late fees I rented two more movies (actually 3)- Shattered Glass ( very interesting- but I prefer the fake Stephen Glass to the real one) - Passing Winter ( something non descript like that) with Zoey Deschanel, Will Ferrell and William Hurt- and UltraViolet. No not the Milla Jovavich movie- this one is an English Vampire show.. Which I have yet to watch. I owed sixteen dollars for Elizabeth I & Alice in Wonderland. Their hours have changed and I keep forgetting they are closed on Sundays.

Today I also grabbed the Anti- 9-5 Guide by Michelle Goodman. I am off to bed- tomorrow I have to sew labels into everything- I am so beat. Happy Sleeping!

Our 1st Anniversary Eagle Vs. Shark

We took the train from Tarrytown to Central Park. There were so many people waiting to have their picture taken with Alice, I barely had time to examine the statue. There was a bride being photographed as well. The day was just beautiful, so we went down to St. Mark's place with our hearts set on the Dumpling Man. We were distracted by a hotdog joint called"good dog" that actually sold soy dogs- so we couldn't resist! I can't remember the last time I had a hotdog let alone on the street in NYC. Mine had veggie beans, sauerkraut, mustard and of course ketchup. Sooo freaking good!

After that we walked to Dumpling Man and got some veggie dumplings to go. Zach checked out they Toyshop next to the Dumpling Man and I perused GirlProps. We then made our way to Landmark Cinema on East Houston to see Eagle Vs. Shark. It was so awesomely hillarious! It is the one guy from Flight of the Conchords on HBO. I highly recommend it! I just took the Eagle Vs. Shark Quiz and I scored as a Shark- Zach as an Eagle.. go figure!

From the theater we meandered over to Purl Patchwork on Sullivan. Every square inch of fabric was amazing and I wanted it all! But I was able to get away with spending less than $20 bucks. So I'm off to bed- tomorrow we take the car to get the damaged assesed.

OOhhhh Gotcha Right in the Cranberry!

Forgive me the title of this post is deceiving. There is no talk of cranberries. Only references made to naughty bits in Strangers with Candy. So our pizza party was fun and always hysterical when my niece jenny wants to play Transformers with Uncle Zach lol

On our way home we got rear-ended ugh! There were something like 15-20 racoons all ages trying to cross the road. Zach slowed down & stopped and we were rear-ended. The back bumper is sorta hanging there. We only got our car in October of 2006! Before that we had Zach's old car- because before that someone hit me and total my new car... so if it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!

Luckily we are both safe. My foot is swollen and my back is sore- the hit was mostly on the passenger's side back end. Oh poop!

Stay safe xo

Alice in Wonderland & Mr. Hopskotch Hoppity LaRue

We started watching this and couldn't get over how adorable Dinah is! I had forgotten her little mews! We paused for a second then I forgot about the movie and started the dishes, when I turned around Zach and Hermione were zonked out in the bedroom. Just one of those days I guess!

Still in current dred of the inventory. It is staring at me from rubbermaid-craftypiles on our chair. Giving me evils.

Not too much to report.. today however is my father's birthday and my parent's anniversary. They've been married for 48 years!! Tomorrow we're going to their house for a pizza party.. lol I didn't think adults could have those, wait, they can? YAY Wheee!
Then Saturday we have a friend's birthday extravaganza.

On Sunday it will be our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary! Wow- I can't believe we have been married for 1 year already.. crazy! So on Sunday, June 24th we are going to zap into NYC for some fun..hoping the weather is nice. I really want to see the Alice in Wonderland statues in Central Park. Since I left my job in the city( aren't those lyrics to a Fogerty song?) I haven't been back in Central Park. A place I went to for solace almost everyday at lunch. ( the park not the statue)

Which reminds me.. I am going to start one of those lists of things I want to do... but I am going to cheat because I am going to add things I"ve already done. You know to build my own momentum.. it'll be awesome!

It is lightly raining with heavy thunder. Our basil plant is doing well as is the rhubarb and tomato plants( no tomatoes yet). The lettuce was doing so well, then the baby bunny ate all 6 stalks of it. Damn him!! Zach says it is really my own fault, the week before I gave him 2 stalks of organic lettuce that was getting a little wilty along with some carrots. The food was pretty much devoured, so I apparently gave our bunny Mr. Hopskotch Hoppity LaRue a taste for lettuce, says Zach. ( Yes, he is French)
Here are a bunch of photos I think they are silly.. me stuck in inventory hell, our kitties my scraped/cut legs from shaving you know the crazy stuff xo

Monday

Tonight for dinner I made mashed potatoes with organic yukon gold and spinach. We both ate really fast in order for zach to run and pick up some tee shirts for new orders and so I could go to the library. I rented an Inconvenient Truth ( because I think we were the only people who had not yet seen it) very powerful. I had seen parts of it on Oprah- but some of it was just amazing when he is discussing scientists who alter their findings or who are forced to lie.

I also rented Disney's Alice in Wonderland because I wanted some inspiration as well as Elizabeth the HBO miniseries with Helen Mirren. I've been on inventory duty for the last two days. Next weekend I'll be at the June 30th, 2007 /PROM as I am affectionatly calling it. It will be my first loner show. So if you come by and I am not at my booth I am either in a port-a-potty or on a coffee run! Zach will be at the Botcon convention- but may be able to help me set up & break down.

This morning and afternoon I worked on finishing up an apron, cutting and pinning a pair of lightweight cotton pinstriped jeans into a skirt, I made a clutch from some vintage fabric I picked up along with some imported Japanese fabric Summer had gotten me. Very Cute! I have so many items to list on etsy, but that is always my biggest pain. That's like after cooking a wonderful meal, you have a loadfull of dishes! Yikes- listing is to load fulls as sewing is to cooking/baking. Hope that makes sense.

Zach's shop, 247 Magnum is doing really well. Take a look~ My Husband's Other Store! Well I will leave you with 3 treasuries we were included in over the last 2 days- how exciting! One is a bunch of other vegheads on etsy xo, another is a fellow PROM vendor and lastly a lover of kites! Wheee

Off to bed, zach needs a ride to the train station tomorrow a 6:45- and I'm the chauffer!

Saturday

Some of my crazy plates!

The cats fighting on the shower curtain my mom gave me- which was altering and pinning on the living room floor- just when the kitties decided to go to war!

We woke around 10 late for me! We hit up a bunch of tag sales. I found a few awesome pieces of fabric and a wonderful vintage halterdress. I will admit it is a lil tight in the ribcage.. but my loving husband adores it. ( It's actually a rule in marriage I think guys have to say that).

I also found a great vintage piece of Tupperware, my big sister use to sell Tupperware so I was happy to have this in my own kitchen. In addition to the Tupperware I bought 2 small matching pieces of Pyrex. There are small pink leaves and one has a lid. My mom has some wonderful pieces, she recently gave me a large vintage plate with flowers.

Lastly I bought a vintage sewing box. Zach didn't find anything, ever since he hit the biggest & best tag sale in May.. he's been chasing the dragon every weekend. Chasing the haunt of a sale that has almost new Star Wars, Mego etc for his collections. Poor baby!

I made some brown-rice pudding with slivers of almonds from Where it All Vegan, one of my favorite cookbooks. This week I am trying to eat lactose/dairy free. My doctor, who I am not really very happy with right now has told me to keep up with my medication and try to eliminate dairy to see if that helps. I don't have Celiac Disease the blood tests came back negative, but I think I want a second opinion, because he is not ver forth coming with information. Anywhoo- After one of my girlfriend's shower tomorrow- we are going to my brother's house for a little Father's Day Celebration. We made my dad a tee shirt with a picture of his old 1939( which he traded in for a 1953 Plymouth and wrote FORD VS PLYMOUTH. My dad is a big car buff we hope he likes it!

I'll post photos later!

What Have You Been Up To?

Today I went for a 3 mile walk with a friend and her most adorable son. I had a terrible headache afterwards took tylenol and felt better. I try not to take that- but when I need to, I do! I posted a new made item on Refashion.

Sleepy..Must go to bed...Must Cuddle with Kitties

In the beginning there were 16 1 x1 inch squares of fabric.

Then I decorated all 16 and will be sending them off in the mail for the 1 inch square Trade off.
Check out the etsy Events Page

I hope I created the right thing- it was a challenge because they are so small. So I used a lot of buttons and beads. I was able to draw on one of the squares, incorporate a love of Canada, animals and flip flops. How exciting!

Zach and I really want to go see 1408 with John Cusack we love him & scary movies.. plus Samuel Jackson is in it too!

I finished my gnome apron: I'll post photos tomorrow along with the shower gift I made one of my girlfriends.

Weddings,To-Do Lists,Treasuries and 1 Inch Squares

At the wedding this morning there were peacocks everywhere! Males, females and babies! The babies are so adorable like little chicks so soft -looking and colored like butter.

The male showing his plumage ready to mate.. during the ceremony~ he kept backing one of the females into a corner and fluffing up it's fluffy toosh.

The happy couple! Amber & Gerry- both looking wonderful.

Zach and I pose for a photo. I usually don't remember to get into photos- but this wedding was an acception to my rule.

4 + courses of yumminess and a chocolate fountain to boot!

Last night I started cutting out my 1X1 inch squares for the swap. I feel like I might be doing it wrong. The squares seem so tiny there isn't much embellishment I can come up with, but I'll try my best tomorrow. My to-do list is growing by the day with things to do for my two friend's weddings and an upcoming show. I have a few designs floating around for new tees but I just need to actually create them. I contacted someone from Grow/Show in Piermont the other day. Possibly a consignment can be worked out. I wonder how the cuffs are doing at the Farm. We sold some a month or so ago, which was great!

Today we also have a treasury for one of our newer tees:

An NPR-based Treasury- what a Unique & Fun idea! xo

Off to craft.. or eat late-night waffles & Law & Order Wheeee!

Chocolate Jackpot, Silver Shoes & Cats Who Enjoy Leaning

Hermione leans on the window like a person. She loves looking out the window, watching the birds, chipmunks and bunnies. We get so many cardinals and an occasional bluebird. My mom gave us 2 very large pillow cases for floor pillows. We folded up blankets that we don't use and stuffed them in the cases- instant pillow and a wonderful way to store unused blankies!

The $20.00 silver shoes I purchased, which were the one thing I was allowed to purchase for a wedding. I am still going strong on my Wardrobe refashion promise.*

Purely Decadent's Pomegranate ChipThe Chocolate Jackpot!

Some greens/lettuce & basil from the garden. Delicious dressing of garlic cloves sliced, olive oil, parsley & balsamic vinegar.

Not feeling so great-but still want to get thins done! I think I'll sit on the couch with a movie or possibly Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince on cd. I'm going to cut out some pieces from felt for a new line of skrts & aprons. Once I finish I'll post them here~
Enjoy the weekend!

I'm OK, You're OK

So after forcing myself to drink 3 liters of the nasty drink, I woke the next day and had my test. Everything looked fine, so now on to blood tests tomorrow.

In other news, I am almost finished on another crafty-show apron and started to piece together a 3rd. The 3rd is a mixture of a vintage house coat or shift that I salvaged the pockets and will sew that to another piece of fabric for durability.

Bleh I hate Preparation

Lavender Chamomile Sun Tea which I made this morning.

Then I began preparing for my test tomorrow... Light breakfast then no food for the rest of the day/night Ugh. Now I am drinking this stuff that tastes so terribly saltly and I think my stomach might explode!

I worked on coffee cuffs today. I get so much more accomplished when I have pinned the pieces together beforehand. I started making one that has different drinks stenciled on the outside/they're reversible. I also listed my finished apron.
crafting /show apron

Off to watch Harry Potter~ Zach is eating barbeque potato chips next to me on the couch and I'm going to go crazy I'm so hungry!!
I'm outtie!

Tuesday Night Showdown

Before I go on I must confess, there is no actual showdown.

Work today- dinner with Meredith. her apartment is so awesome! We made pasta watched Little Britain. I left them with her so she could get aquainted with Bubbles and the other ridiculous characters they come up with like.

I joined Wardrobe Refashion last night and was accepted for a 2 month pledge. I went today and bought a grey sweatshirt to add patches to, assuming it would be the last piece I'd by for at least 2 months. It is a really awesome idea, I'm so glad I stumbled across the site. Please Check it out!

I want to get started tomorrow with a tutorial for making a bolero. It is also something I want to send to Venus magazine
Their site. We actually have an ad in this month's issue with Bjork on the cover!

Started listening to Joanna Newsom's album Ys... it's really amazing. Not sure when it was released, I tend to get to music later than most because I don't usually buy it, I borrow from the library or Zach makes me mixes from itunes. But she sounds like a wonderful mix of Bjork and Tori Amos and a water nymph you'd find frolicking in the woods. She plays the harp among other instruments. Very cool!

Some remixes/reconstruction I created the other night and listed on etsy xox

I don't like Mondays...

Sundays and Mondays are my least favorite days of the week, I was born on Thursday thank goodness! Cause that might be considered self-loathing to hate the day you were born on. I guess as a child, playing outside being called in cause' it was Sunday and I had school the next day has given me bad- Sunday vibes. And well Mondays are guilty by association, sorry Monday. My sister-in-law is also not a fan of Sundays, she said she makes sure to try and have something planned that is fun to do. Whether it is watching a movie or a special dinner, magazine or book. But something to spiff up the day instead of dreading it. I think that is good advice so I try to do that when I remember.

Sunday

This morning I caught a little more of A Prairie Home Companion, one of my favorite NPR shows. They were reporting from a Rubarb convention of sorts or so they stated~ I need to pick up some more rhubarb to make a crumble. Then I went to lunch with the ladies in Brigette's bridal party. Most of us ordered eggplant rollatini- which was pretty good. Mo and I wanted to drink the balsamic vinagrette served to us with our salads, it was so good! No dessert, just a cappuccino which was delicious.

Then a stop at the Suffern library, which aways has the best books- and was able to pick up Denyse Schmidt's quilting book among others.

Last night I started a craft- show or gardening apron from some vintage fabric linen with colorful flowers we picked up from
Rocket to Mars last summer. Then I added some pieces I ordered from Fabric Stash

Here is a pic of the apron in progress..

We also rearranged the living room- pretty much the same way it was- but just flipped it on the other wall. We don't have many choices in such a small hobbit-like dwelling.Hopefully it doesn't disturb the kitties too much.

So much todo. Work tomorrow~ Oh how I enjoy my Mondays off- but I needed to make up for my days later in the week.

Till tomorrow xo

Weekend-

So much going on~ making making making. The plants are doing well in the yard. We were informed a new couple will be moving in downstairs. How exciting. I can't believe on June 24 it will be our 1 year Wedding Anniversary! Time really has flown by it amazes me. We also just had our Etsyversary- on May 31st and missed it!

For the first anniversary I think it is paper. We were thinking about what we'd like to get for each other or what collectively we need. An ipod is on the list as is a subscription to Netflix. Technically netflix arrives in paper.. right? So maybe that will count.

Tonight I listed a new bag, Eyes on the Prize Tote. Tomorrow Mo comes into town for Brigette's get together.

The gears are in motion for new tee designs. I have a few as does Zach. I'd love to start screenprinting, but at this point we have such limited space. Although we could probably do it in the backyard.

Something to think about.
