This Just In...
Our reversible kid's apron- New to the shop!
I guess sometimes when life is happening you forget about writing about life! This blog was started in 2007-last night I was going back and forth trying to decide if moving to another blog host was what I needed for this little blog. Zach and I decided to stay here and try to keep this blog chug-a-lugging.
I hope you will stop by from time to time to see what's new in our shop and just in our lives. We are reworking the blog- for a fresh, new feel- simplifying and just making it happier! So stick around- you won't be disappointed! What are you working on?

The Best Brownies I've Ever Made
story to follow!
OK, so I must admit these are made from a box err bag mix. I used the Gluten Free Pantry Chocolate Truffle Brownie Mix. It is the first mix I used when I went GF and even though I am no longer completley adhering (it wasn't really helping me) I still go to this mix. It has chips in it already. When I made it I used liquid eggs (which isn't what I normally use) I didn't use any applesauce ( which I usually do instead of oil or egg sometimes, but it gives the baked good a very thick dense consistency) and I added the peanut butter. No real recipe- just the most amazing brownies I've ever made! Baking is always touch & go with me. Even the other day using a recipe I have made a million times for 2 loaves of banana bread- because I added the brown sugar to the wrong boil, I am convinced the bread didn't bake right. I'll still eat every morsel.

2 For Wednesday!
So one of my favorite little coffee cuffs was featured in Etsy's blog aka The Storque. The article is called Lean Green Machine today. There is still one of these beauties left and more on the way!

December in many forms
Well as everyone gears up for Christmas, I'll leave you with an excerpt from A Child's Calendar By John Updike. We lost him this year and he will be missed. One of my favorite authors. I read this to Hazel a lot while in my tummy and now with her on my lap or rambling around the room playing as I read aloud.
:::::December::::::
First snow! The flakes,
So few, so light
Remake the world
In solid white.
All bundled up,
We feel as if
We were fat penguins,
Warm and stiff.
The toy-packed shops
Half split their sides,
And Mother brings home
Things she hides.
Old carols peal.
The dusk is dense.
There is a mood
Of sweet suspense.
The shepherds wait,
The kings, the tree-
All wait for something
Yet to be,
Some miracle.
And then it's here,
Wrapped up in hope-
Another year!
Be well- Merry Christmas xo

BOGO Black Friday Sale!
After a full day of eating Tofurkey-cornbread stuffing-mashed potatoes-carrots and other delicious foods- I'm amazed there is still room for a bebe in my belly! With 2 days to go (technically) we're getting a little baby crazy here. So we decided to have a BOGO BLACK FRIDAY SALE! Visit our shop for some of the cutest- most unique coffee cuffs around. Made from a mix of vintage & new fabrics- super cute and perfect for a special little gift this year!
I'll be visiting my midwife today hopefully she'll be able to give us hope of an early or on-date-delivery. Zach read somewhere that many first-time-mamas go on an average 8 days after their due date. Disappointing- but what can I do?!
There will be some more holiday crafting over the next few days. The longer Hazel hides- I guess the more holiday gifts I'll be able to finish. We have no plans to visit the malls or stores. We went last weekend to pick up whatever store-bought items we needed. So now it is just up to us to get into create mode! We'll be listening to some of our favorite holiday/Christmas music- watch a few silly movies and have fun( and pretend we're not constantly thinking of the impending baby arrival).
Hope you do the same!

Feeling Toasty
This is the latest girl added to the Scraparella posse. I haven't quite come up with a name yet, but the song by the Moldy Peaches
little bunny foo foo keeps swirling through my head. She's the first bunny I've made and with my excitement, I forgot to turn her ears right side out! So she's a little rough around the edges!

Friday night was spent putting the finishing touches on my cousin's shower gifts, signs, recipe box and such. Saturday, I didn't feel well enough to make the trip to her shower. It hurt, to not be there.I'm her matron-of-honor. This is only the most recent event I've had to miss due to my tummy issues during pregnancy. yikes. Luckily she was understanding.
Sunday, I felt a little better and we headed to Trader Joe's for groceries. It seems the pumpkin butter they had last year, is not yet on the shelves. However, today is the first official day of Autumn! 11:44am to be exact! So maybe next time we go.
On the way back we stopped at a flea-market at a local fire house. There was a woman selling fabrics, but nothing jumped out at me. But these did...

How could I pass these up for $1.50? She had other pieces, but I didn't want to over do it. I already have a couple of other mushroom pieces- some match, some don't. I scrubbed them clean and now they sit on the top of a bookshelf, next to my mushroom cookie jar.
In an attempt to find a proper winter coat- I had hit the thrift store closest to us last week. I found two tan jackets, neither of which actually button up really. So Zach and I decided it made more sense to buy a real, proper coat. Our winters are cold! With the lack of cool plus-size vintage in the area, I chose this coat from Old Navy. My hopes are that I can wear it all winter long- it doesn't look too much like a maternity coat.

I'm loving the charcoal color and that collar! Plus it was 20% off with free shipping, so I feel like we did a pretty good job.
Later in the day, the organizing bug bit me- actually more like took a chunk out of my brain. Because this is what I started doing around 7:30pm..

I know, scary. Zach could hear me doing something and when he came in- it was too late. I had emptied my closet and there was a mound of books, clothes etc. I got down off the chair just in time. But in my defense, I wanted to clean out my closet for a while- definitely before baby arrives- because yes, that is the corner of your crib you see there.

Here is a burp cloth I made and a bunny-girl onesie. Both are for baby Oat. I'm going crazy with the burp cloths, but why not?
With fall officially here and me hitting my 30 week mark yesterday,I can't believe we'll have a new person in our lives in less than 3 months. There is so much to do.
I better get back to my Fall-Clean-Out-The Closet-stint.
